Three tiers, chosen by how much assurance the situation needs.
Document Validation
From a fast integrity check to independent authentication.
Document Integrity Check
The fast first read. A technical, page-level check for indicators of alteration: fonts, spacing, alignment, logos, signatures, stamps and formatting inconsistencies. The entry point before deciding whether a document needs deeper forensic work.
Document Forensic Analysis
Goes beyond the integrity check into document structure, template reuse, metadata where available, and cross-page and cross-document consistency, comparing versions and tracking chronology to surface edits a simple read-through would miss.
Document Authentication
Independent verification of the purported issuer and content, confirming issuance, registry status, licence or certificate validity, and signatory authority directly through the issuing body wherever it can be reached.
